About IEP Studio

IEP Studio is independent software built for one person: the special education teacher, SLP, OT, or case manager writing goals at their kitchen table on a Sunday night. It is not a district compliance system, and it isn't sold through purchase orders.

It exists because the tools in this space were built for the people who audit IEPs, not the people who write them. Goal writing, progress monitoring, and family communication are the daily work — and they are the three things IEP Studio does.

The privacy position

There is no field for a student's name anywhere in IEP Studio. Students are identified by initials you choose. This is an architectural decision, not a setting: because directly identifying information is never collected, it can never be leaked, sold, subpoenaed from us, or sent to an AI model. Read the full privacy and security posture.

How the AI is used — and what it can't do

IEP Studio uses a large language model to draft goal components from a plain-language description and to turn progress data into a family-friendly summary. It cannot know a student's baseline, and it does not invent one: the teacher supplies the baseline, the target, and the condition. Every draft is meant to be edited, and every goal remains the professional judgment of the IEP team.

What we don't claim

We don't claim to be “FERPA certified” — no such certification exists, and vendors who say otherwise are overstating. We don't publish testimonials we didn't receive. And nothing here is legal advice; IEP requirements vary by state, and your team and district remain the authority on your documents.
